Institution: University of South Carolina Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory General Information: The School of Music at the University of South Carolina is seeking applicants for Assistant Professor of Music Theory, full-time, tenure-track, to begin August 16, 2019. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience The successful candidate will have a doctoral (Ph.D., ABD also considered with evidence of expected degree completion by August 16, 2019) in music theory, with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and evidence of an active research program. All research areas will be considered. Job Description/Responsibilities: Teach courses in undergraduate and graduate music theory; maintain excellence in scholarly research and publication; supervise elements of the undergraduate theory and aural skills curriculum as assigned; direct graduate and undergraduate research; and provide service to the School, University and profession.
