Institution: Wake Forest University Position: Assistant Professor Job Description/Responsibilities: The Department of Music at Wake Forest University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Music Theory, to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2019. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and a record of strong scholarly production and professional service. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core courses in the undergraduate music theory sequence, including ear training, sight-singing and keyboard skills. Candidates themselves should display superior keyboard proficiency. We seek a versatile scholar with additional expertise in either Music History since 1900 OR recording arts and music technology. Other teaching duties may include Introduction to Western Music, first year seminars, or other undergraduate courses related to the candidate’s areas of expertise, along with opportunities to mentor undergraduate research projects.
