Institution: Indiana State University Position: Assistant Professor General Information: Screening of applications begins 27 November 2006 and will continue until the position is filled. Qualifications: Doctorate in music theory required; ABDs in music theory may be considered. Comprehensive knowledge of music theory in the Western art music tradition expected. Evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated potential to maintain a scholarly research agenda including presentations at professional conferences and publication in appropriate journals required. Background in music technology and its application to the teaching of music theory and skills highly desirable. Job Description/Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in music theory and skills (ear training, sight-singing, and keyboard) and graduate courses in music theory. Serve on graduate and departmental committees. Additional responsibilities based on candidate’s strengths. Duties to commence on 15 August 2007.
