Position: Assistant Professor of Music Theory

General Information:

The Department of Music invites applicants for a tenure-track nine-month entry-level Assistant Professor in Music Theory. Successful candidates must have a doctorate degree (D.M.A. or Ph.D.) with a specialization in Music Theory with piano desired. Commitment in preparing students for a collaborative career in music is desirable.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include a full-time teaching load and departmental service including an Applied Instrument studio, teaching pedagogical classes in primary area, and teaching all lower and upper level theory courses. Other departmental duties include service on various departmental committees and University committees. Applicants should possess evidence of teaching excellence and an active scholarly agenda.

Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with applicant's credentials and qualifications.
