Institution: Kent State University - Kent Campus Position: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track General Information: The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Music Theory beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year. Qualifications: Required qualifications include a completed doctorate in music theory by the time of appointment to the position, a minimum of three years recent experience teaching college music theory, and a record of successful research activity. A high level of proficiency in aural and keyboard skills is essential. Job Description/Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be a teacher and scholar committed to teaching all levels of undergraduate and graduate theory, supervising the undergraduate core theory sequence and theory graduate assistants, and advising theses and dissertations. Experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds is desirable. Demonstrated potential for significant and sustained research is required, as is appropriate service to the profession and university.
