Institution: University of Texas at San Antonio Position: Assistant Professor Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a PhD with a specialization in music theory or theory-composition no later than September 1, 2007. The position requires a candidate who has a minimum of one year experience teaching music theory and aural training at the university level, with competence in a variety of analytical and historical approaches. In addition, the candidate should have an established record of research in music theory (including presentations at professional conferences and publications in scholarly journals) and potential for continued research activity. Job Description/Responsibilities: POSITION: The Department of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio seeks a qualified person to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in music theory and aural skills. Additional teaching opportunities will be based on the candidate’s interest and abilities. Pending budget approval.
