Institution: Oklahoma City University Position: Assistant Professor General Information: The Bass School of Music at OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Music Theory (tenure track), to begin August 15, 2007. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in practical musicianship. We welcome applications reflecting a broad range of interests in music theory. A Ph.D. in music theory is expected by the time of appointment. Job Description/Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate theory and aural skills sequence, upper level undergraduate courses and Master’s degree level theory courses. The successful candidate will assist in the development of the music theory program in the Wanda L. Bass School of Music, advise students, and will participate in faculty meetings and other university service endeavors. Knowledge/experience in the application of technology to the teaching of music theory and aural skills is expected.
