Institution: Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University Position: Assistant Professor General Information: The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in music theory. Expected start date: 08/01/2020. Qualifications: A completed Ph.D. degree in music theory or its equivalent is required by time of appointment. Qualifications include a record of scholarly accomplishment, an active program of research, and experience in both graduate and undergraduate teaching. The music theory department is equally committed to excellence in teaching and to fostering scholarship in both new and existing areas in the discipline. Job Description/Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in music theory, including core theory classes in large-lecture format; supervising research in area(s) of expertise; maintaining an active program of research and scholarly publication; and participating on departmental committees, doctoral advisory committees, and in other departmental activities, as well as service on Jacobs School of Music committees. Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
