Institution: University of Memphis Position: Assistant Professor of Composition and Music Theory General Information: Assistant Professor of Music – Composition and Music Theory Nine-month tenure-track position in the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music beginning August 2020. Qualifications: MM degree in Composition. Candidate must demonstrate potential for continued scholarly research/creative activities. Doctoral degree and college level teaching experience are desired, as is experience in composition for visual media such as film, video games, etc. Job Description/Responsibilities: Teaching duties may include undergraduate and graduate composition lessons, Music Theory classes, and other classes as determined by the School of Music. Composers with demonstrated success in the number of performances and awards are especially encouraged to apply.
