Institution: University of Saskatchewan Position: Lecturer General Information: Limited term, 10 months (September 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021) Qualifications: A doctorate in music theory at the time of appointment is preferred (ABD considered). We are seeking candidates who: (i) have demonstrated effective classroom teaching skills and mentorship in music theory at the university level; (ii) within the breadth of the field of music theory, have an established or an emerging research profile; (iii) are willing to participate in advancing the department’s engagement in Indigeneity, interdisciplinary collaboration and community-inspired projects. Job Description/Responsibilities: Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a limited-term ten-month position in Music Theory (September 1, 2020 – June 30, 2021) at the rank of Lecturer with the Department of Music at the University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will: teach undergraduate- and potentially graduate-level courses in music theory and possibly other courses commensurate with the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs; and will undertake administrative activities corresponding to rank. In keeping with a significant University of Saskatchewan commitment, the Department welcomes candidates who will demonstrate leadership with respect to Indigenization, as well as community and outreach engagement.
