Institution: American University Position: Assistant Professor (one-year) General Information: The Department of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University seeks a full-time, one year, temporary faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Music for the 2007/08 academic year. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate general education courses in music, ear training for majors, survey courses in music history (classical and modern), student advising and mentoring, and participating in department service activities. A PhD, DMA or ABD degree and at least three years professional experience is required. The candidate may hold advanced degrees in any music area, and must show success and ability to effectively teach majors, minors, and non-majors in music.
